What is IPD?
Since 2001, the friends of My Little Pony have observed
International Pony Day in honor of the little ponies. IPD is held on
August 2nd of each year. |
What happens on IPD?
You can celebrate IPD in any way you
choose—perhaps by having a get-together in your town or visiting the
flea market for a good, old-fashioned pony hunt—but don’t forget to
join us on the web for online celebrations, contests, and more. |
Who is in charge?
No one in particular is “in charge.” Each IPD event is supported by
an independent person called its host. This host is solely in charge
of his or her own activity, including the setup and awarding of
any prizes. This site maintains IPD Headquarters and its event
directory as a service to the online community. |
May I host an
event? Yes, we
encourage you to organize custom contests, swap exchanges, raffles,
fan-fic contests, art contests, and more. If you organize an event
or activity, send us the information and we will add it to the event
directory. (Check the directory for any event
conflicts before submission.) |
When is IPD active?
IPD is observed on August 2nd. Contests galleries are generally
showcased through the month of August. Related events can happen any
time of the year, but events specific to IPD generally run between
April and September. Deadlines for IPD contests
are generally set in mid or late July, leaving enough time to prepare
the winners for August (we recommend announcing winners on August
2nd). Preparations for IPD events usually begin in May. From October–April, not much happens related to IPD. |
Who endorses
IPD? IPD is brought to you solely by the efforts of the pony
community (in other words, fans and collectors) and
has no affiliation with
Hasbro,
Inc., which owns the rights to the
My Little Pony® line. IPD is neither sponsored nor endorsed by
Hasbro, Inc., but we hope our efforts to celebrate and promote My
Little Pony is appreciated. Of course, if Hasbro felt like
celebrating with us, we'd be more than happy to have them!
